Shagufta Alam
Psychologist
speaks English and Urdu

Hi friends, I am Shagufta Alam. I am a Registered Psychologist and Behaviour Support Practitioner. I have been in the disability space for more than ten years in various roles, serving diverse populations.

My main areas of work are trauma, complex trauma, Schizophrenia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The list does not finish here, it continues to Anxiety, Depressions, ADHD and challenging behaviours.

After working in the sector for so long, I have realized that we are serving a very fragile population but there is a big hap in terms of service availability for our clients. For example, I personally find it very daunting to sit in the waiting rooms to attend appointments. As a result, I do not let my clients go through the same and I do home visits to avoid the waiting time for the vulnerable clients.

I am bilingual, I can speak English and Urdu. I am also very flexible in terms of availability. I work after hours to service school going clients.

Joshua Green
Exercise Physiologist
speaks English

Accidents, diseases, hereditary conditions and pain all have a story. It’s my passion to unravel its origin and use my experience, in conjunction with exercise, to help heal people and restore their function, strength, mobility and quality of life.

From beginning my journey as a personal trainer, I’ve helped people change their lives both physically and psychologically, together experiencing their struggles and successes, sharing them as my own. Working as a personal trainer, shaped and molded my desire to help people achieve the goals they thought previously impossible or out of reach. Following this I knew I needed to take the next step and become an Exercise Physiologist. Similar in many ways to a personal trainer, although with a wider spread of scope of practice, becoming an Exercise Physiologist allowed me to treat people with, metabolic, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and psychological conditions.

Becoming an Exercise Physiologist has allowed me to help people of all walks of life to regain their control, independence and confidence within their own body. Our successes range from (but not limited to) weight loss, controlling diabetes, recovering from surgery (joint, open heart and keyhole surgeries), regaining full range of motion and strength to a joint and as complex and difficult as improving quality of life and daily function to a spinal cord injury patient.

My promise to you is that your weaknesses, diagnosis’, injuries, or hereditary conditions do NOT have to define you. You’re in control. My job and passion is to help you realise that.
